Project by - Arpita Akhanda

Day 1-
"Babli" for me is a on going process...a process were human and nature relationship goes hand in hand....and not as a final product since nature is always in a process of creating through decaying and humans or presence of man plays an important role in between....nature and man both has its own past or history which is helping to shape its present and future...
Babli is a perfect example to understand the kind of dialogue nature always wants to generate with the presence of human.....  man does his minimum responsibility towards nature and as a result nature  helps to fulfills the need of his and helps him grow and cherish ....Babli plays the role of a mother who embraces us in her lap.....and is always welcoming...

Day 5-

while cleaning my site  I stumbled upon pattern of moulds and depressions on further investigation and careful observations I realized it was the abode of meek rat, I excavated  my discovery further almost like an archaeologist on a relentless mission and was so stupefied by the construction in front of me that I knew I had to reconstruct it at my site . So I went forth and recreated the miniature pattern to a more visible and sized structure, using the depressions and re creating the drawing by carving out the land same as the processes used to carve the original patterns and holes by the rat.
So my challenge was to recreate those drawings on my site by carving out and even using the present dynamics of the situation that was naturally formed there...work on progress....

these are the images of the patterns formed by the rat

Day-6

Day-7

work in progress.....making a fictional path surrounding the reconstructed holes....with straws and burning them so as to get a clear path

Day -8

reconstructing the space with decayed fence ,confused how to place them so as to generate a relation with the tunnels and the fictional space created

Day-9

placing the fence in space creating a new dialogue with the underworld or parallel world. using the patterns constructing a new space and creating a fictional space with fictional stories of the underworlds...

Day -10

finally towards the end by creating a fictional story of the house of the rat.....how I played a role of an invader....invading his place and reconstructing it .....
