Trapped in my diary
Day 1,
the very first thing that strikes me soon after reaching the farm is the immense sound of the nature.Chirping of birds, the howl of the wind, the rustling of the leave -all are as alive as the ears that can hear them .Its a beauty that makes the environment seem so peaceful and perfect.
Babli is the place where I found very less mechanical sounds.Industry and nature in the wild both have their own place in today's world. However, coming back to the sounds,I believe that often in our preoccupation with the industrial sounds we don't bother or rather we neglect or overlook these silence of the nature .
Day 2,
The poetry of natural sounds. In the large silence of the farm's sounds have a significance and intimacy that they cannot have where life is crowded with activities and interests. In a certain sense ,life here is a rider because of its simplicity and its freedom from the thousand directions that exhaust its emotion and scatter its energies.
Day 3,
started by listening to the sounds of my body while moving through dry leaves and established the first dialogue between me and the environment. Its just like talking to the environment through my footsteps which then in turn responds by giving the sound a specific acoustic quality .
started questioning myself.
* what else do I hear?
people who stay in Babli talking to themselves.
*continuous sounds
*discontinuous sounds
*rustles
*bangs
*swishes
*thuds
*what are the sources of these sounds?
*what is the quietest sound I hear?
*what is the Intense sound I hear?
So far I've isolated sounds from each other in my listening and gotten to know them as individual entities but each of them is a part of a bigger environmental composition
Day 4,
area selected.
spotted few junks (especially tin cans )
plan came up to make something with the found objects which can capture sound from nature and people can give it a listen.
generating an interrelationship between the nature and human beings
Day 5,
And the experimentation begins,
started making tin can telephones
Took two tin cans and punched a small hole in center of the bottom of each can just small enough for string (coconut string) to fit through.
This is how the area looks like

Experimentation continues ,
collected few more junks, this time not only with the small tin cans but also with few container in bigger size (keeping the shape in mind ) which can transmit the sound of nature to people .
day 6,
time to tie them up and place to the tree branches to generate a communication process between human and the mother nature
